A snake must release its old skin to grow larger and stronger. The shedding of its skin also removes harmful parasites and bacteria that may have been attached to its old skin. When it is time for its transformation, the snake rubs and scratches, feeling something's not quite right. During the process, its colouring sometimes shifts to an indigo-blue hue. Unfortunately, if the snake cannot shed its skin, it will become malnourished, possibly even blind, and it may perish from its inability to grow.
The shedding of our planet's 'skin' is but a part of the transformation the whole Universe is experiencing (as above, so below). According to Chinese astrology, the Year of the Snake is a time of profound change and transformation. It is a year when we are called to shed our old ways and embrace new beginnings. In 2025, we will experience this transformative energy, as it is also a Universal Year of 9 in Numerology, a year of endings, healing, forgiveness, and unconditional love.
I sense an ancient creator's energy emerging to help construct a New World Consciousness. The Great Mother symbolizes this Ancient Energy, a creator life force that balances male/female, yin/yang, and giving/receiving. She is here to guide us through this process, to help us shed our old skin before the beautiful, fresh new one appears. I recommend watching online videos of snakeskin shedding. It symbolizes the process that we are all being asked to embrace. Any birth involves pain, but a pain that is worth enduring. Emotional, physical, mental or spiritual pain is the price of admission to the New World Consciousness. Are you willing to pay the price for a stronger, wiser world?

Ouch! I am also transforming. I usually observe, support, and command the ocean tides. But the Great Mother warms me with her caring wisdom and inspires me to shed my old skin of sometimes judging the earth planet. She teaches me to indulge my senses and enjoy being alive and sentient. My role of observing has created stagnation and boredom. The new world life force is moving into my moon sensory cells and activates an appreciation of being vibrantly alive. Even in the darkest storm, embrace the beauty of existing in a temperamental but loving Universe. I invite you to dance with me during my moon cycles.
